			<description><![CDATA[I have a question about nutrition needs for athletic training.  I am training to walk a half marathon.  My coach is advising me to "carb up" and take high carb snacks with me during our long training walks.  Most of the commercial products like Gu or Nuun have lots of carbs and electrolytes in them.  My coach warns me against eating protein during the training walks.  Does my body require higher levels of carbs during extended exercise and are they consistent with PP? What kinds of nutrition will keep me from 'crashing'? I am 56, in menopause, a cancer survivor, and not famous for my level of athletic prowess! I want to do a half-marathon as a &quot;victory dance&quot;.  :eek:</div>
